Als holarktische Gastvögel sind Raufußbussarde (nach alter Rechtschreibung: Rauhfußbussard) in Mitteleuropa vor allem im Winterhalbjahr anzutreffen. Raufußbussarde ziehen aus ihren hochnordischen Brutgebieten von Ende September/ Anfang Oktober ab und treffen dann in zunehmender Zahl im Gebiet vor allem der norddeutsch/polnischen Tiefebene ein.
